series regulations

The Australian Prototype Series is governed by Motorsport Australia Sporting and Technical regulations, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all competitors. Participants must adhere to the strict guidelines set forth for the 2026 season.

APS BOP
Commencing in 2026, APS has introduced a simplified BoP procedure, determined by lap time brackets, not by car type. Time brackets will be nominated by the Category Manager prior to each

Round of the Series for each of the three vehicle classes:
AP 1
AP 2
AP 3

The time brackets will be relevant to the track each round is being held at.

Managing Performance Parity
Penalties for breaching the nominated lap times for each class will be as follows:
One breach in a race will incur a 5 second time penalty.
Two breaches in a race will incur a 30 second time penalty.
Third breach will incur a classification of Disqualification for that race.
More than 3 breaches at a Round will result in the Disqualification from that Round.

DRIVER CONDUCT
The Australian Prototype Series (APS) seeks to promote enjoyable and safe competition and the avoidance of car-to-car contact.

The required standards of driving conduct (Driving Standards) are as described within this APS – Code of Driving Conduct document, and as described within in the “Code of Driving Conduct” section within the current Motorsport Australia (MA) RA01 regulations.
